My name is Jo & I am the founder of Caring Activities.
I am passionate about senior care and particularly enjoy creating new & interesting activities to try. I wanted to find a way to share ideas and experiences with others, so founded the Caring Activities website in February 2018.
My Background & Training.
I have been working as an Activity & Events Coordinator at Woodlands House Care Home in the New Forest for several years. It's a job that I absolutely love and feel so lucky to be able to work in such a rewarding role.
I have undertaken training in many areas including: Dementia awareness, challenging behaviour, sensory activity provision, mental capacity act, safeguarding adults, end of life care & health & safety. Alongside this I also have an NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care - Activity Provision.
A little more about me...
I live in a village near Salisbury in Wiltshire with my husband, dog Alfie & pet birds. I enjoy gardening, going to music gigs & theatre shows, crafts, countryside walks & watching films. I have also played violin for over 20 years and perform in a couple of local orchestras.
